RIP Dad.

I can't figure out what to say yet... but here's why I've been gone for a bit. I miss you Dad.

Rupert Manka, 58

Rupert Stanley Manka, a resident of North Prairie, died Oct. 31, 2007, at his home.

Visitation was held Sunday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service East Chapel in Little Falls with a private memorial service at 5 p.m. Interment was Monday, at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery with military rites by the Little Falls V.F.W. Post #1112.

Rupert was born April 15, 1949, to Helen (Kurtz) and Rupert Manka and raised in Holdingford. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and then worked in the electrical trade for 33 years as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline, founded Lora B's with his wife Beatrice and owned the Blue Port on Lake Alexander. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved any project outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Beatrice; son Joram and wife Maria; son Louis; daughter Kayla; sisters Mary and Cathy; brother Frank and step-siblings Agnes, John, Anthony, Doris and William.

He was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Rupert and his stepsister, Eve.
